Ensuring Seamless Internet During Unexpected Outages

A few weeks ago, during a heavy lightning storm, a Fortis transformer was struck, leading to a significant power outage. Unfortunately, Fortis didn’t have the necessary spare parts on hand, resulting in the transformer being out of commission for 48 hours. 

What you might not know is that, once we realized the internet would be down for more than just a brief moment, our team sprang into action. John Coleman, one of our dedicated team members, was onsite from 11 PM to midnight, assessing the situation. He then returned at 5 AM to install a generator. This generator powered our tower and radios, keeping your internet connection seamless throughout the downtime. 

To ensure seamless service, we fueled that generator every six hours, day and night. This was no small feat, as the site was remote, requiring an hour’s round trip each time. Our commitment to maintaining your internet connection meant that you experienced minimal interruption in service, despite the challenging circumstances. 

This incident highlights our dedication to providing seamless internet solutions.
